Scrapbook Designer is owned and operated by Scrapbook Designer, Christie Gelsomino
I started scrapbooking in 1998, when I attended a scrapbooking consultant party. I was having so much fun making the next few pages, I knew I wanted to continue with the craft. I then went to a scrapbook store. I bought a few tools, papers, stickers, and embellishments and I was hooked. I have become an avid scrapbooker ever since then. Scrapbooking is a great pleasure for me.
I come from a very crafty, creative and hands-on family. Because I enjoy pictures, I have always put my photos and memorabilia into albums all my life. However over the years those albums have started to turn yellow, deteriorate and damage my pictures. So I decided scrapbooking was what I was I needed to do with my photos and memories of the past in order to preserve them. Scrapbooking is the process of placing photos and memorabilia into archival quality albums which are acid and lignin free.
When I decided to start scrapbooking, there was no stopping of me. I first worked in a scrapbook store-now that is dangerous! Then I started teaching classes and the students would ask me to make their albums for them because they now didn't want to do it themselves. I went home, told my husband about my students and he told me that I could make the albums. So in 2003-Scrapbook Designer was created. Besides the classes and the making of the scrapbook albums-I then would shop for supplies, organize photos upon photos, coordinate scrapbook parties and make scrapbook gifts. I have recently added digital photo design because that is the step in scrapbooking-computer savvy photos. I scrapbook because I love to create. Scrapbooking also allows me to enjoy my passions in life: my family, my photos,my memories and my crafts.
